Should you use a Corded or Cordless drill?

There is a choice when it comes to Power drills - they can either be corded and connected to the mains, or alternatively they can be cordless and be powered by batteries or a charger. Before you buy it is worth considering the different features in a Corded and Cordless Drill that are going to be most important to you...

Cordless Drills

A cordless drill is smaller, lighter and more simple for most people to handle.

* Light, so they are simple to hold and use
* Have no trailing cord so they can be safer than corded Drills
* More versatile as they are less restricted by size
* Power can be continuous, only if you change the batteries
* There is a possiblity that some drills even have a Screwdriver function
* As you might forget to charge it, some have a 'Fast Change' function.
* Less powerfull than a corded model

Corded drill

Corded drills are more powerfull than a cordless model with extra features and additonal torque.

* Additional power
* Does not use batteries so no need to charge the drill
* Some have extra features that you wont find on a cordless drill
* May carry additional weight
* Restrictions can be caused by the cord
* You must have a power source nearby
